WINTER, 2011

Dear Fellow American,

WELCOME TO THE TROOPER JOURNAL!... A publication of NROTC, The National Remember Our Troops Campaign.

NROTC is a 501(c)(3) tax-deductible military charity dedicated to honoring all military service members, all veterans, and their families, for their service and sacrifice, supporting those in need to the best of our ability, and letting them know they are not forgotten.

As the war on terrorism rages on, it is only because of our nation’s bravest and finest men and women that stand ready to risk life and limb to protect our country and our way of life, that we remain out of harm's way. Please remember that for every brave trooper serving, there are family members back home "serving" and sacrificing, with them.

Today, NROTC's Mission is expanding to provide recreational therapy to our wounded warriors returning from Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as other wounded veterans.

Many of these wounded are amputees, burn and gunshot victims and those who have suffered serious blast injury and brain trauma due to roadside bombs. Most of them are facing months, if not years, of repetitive surgeries and rehabilitative therapy. We arrange various recreational events and activities to get them out of the hospital environment and show them a good time. Other Americans get a chance to honor them and thank them for their service and sacrifice, and let them know they are appreciated. This show of support by others as we get them out to mix with the public, many for the first time after sustaining their injuries in battle, helps them, in their immediate recovery AND… on an ongoing basis!

THE TROOPER JOURNAL is published quarterly. While our E-Version is viewed nationally if not worldwide, our print version is being distributed on a limited basis to various military bases, military and VA hospitals, and areas surrounding military bases throughout the USA. Right now, most of our print circulation is in the Maryland, Washington, D.C. and northern Virginia areas.

We are in the process of compiling a "Wounded Warrior Registry", and we have set-up an online Wounded Warrior Support Group. LEARN MORE HERE

We are also seeking volunteers who are willing to give a helping hand.
CONSIDER VOLUNTEERING

Being that NROTC is headquartered in the Baltimore/Washington, DC metropolitan area, this gives us a unique opportunity in that we are so closely located to Walter Reed Army Medical Center, National Naval Medical Center, formerly known as Bethesda Naval Hospital, and Fort Meade, MD, where many of our wounded are also being housed. Most of our efforts today are centered around these hospitals, however, plans are to expand our charitable activity and Trooper Journal circulation nationwide.

We hope you enjoy reading THE TROOPER JOURNAL.

For those of you who are serving, those who have served, our wounded, the loved-ones and caregivers. THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS YOU!!!

Yours in freedom,

Tom Ruley
